Building of the week: Zwinglistrasse extension

Swiss-Architects, the platform of the current architecture scene, selects the building of the week on a weekly basis. Last week, the addition on Zwinglistrasse had the honor under the title Fresh Cell Cure in Wood Element Construction. We congratulate the architects Beat Nievergelt GmbH and thank them for the inspiring collaboration.
The modest Worker's dwelling from the late 19th century was rebuilt and topped up. Timbatec accompanied the necessary strengthening of the load-bearing structure as a specialist planner. Hereyou can find the detailed report on the platform swiss-architects.com.
The supporting structure is cleverly used as a design element in the interior of the apartment.
The stacked building towers above the neighboring buildings on the courtyard side. The wooden structure is separated from the solid building by a horizontal sheet.
