Construction begins on the Pichlmühle on Lake Attersee

With the start of construction, work begins on a unique timber-frame project in Austria. The «Pichlmühle» in Nussdorf am Attersee is a high-end apartment hotel built using timber construction methods that combines tourism, architecture, and sustainability. The project comprises 46 hotel apartments across three building units, as well as an event area of approximately 300 m², 100 m² of coworking space, and a 250 m² spa area. The location is particularly appealing due to its close proximity to Lake Attersee and the Attersee-Traunsee golf course.

The energy concept relies on geothermal and photovoltaic systems and is designed to achieve a level of energy self-sufficiency of approximately 90 percent. At the same time, the building is being developed according to «klimaaktiv» criteria and constructed as a certified timber structure. The timber construction work is being performed by Weissenseer Holz System-Bau GmbH of Greifenburg.
