Just a few years ago, timber construction was a niche market. Today, building with wood is mainstream and Stefan Zöllig, the founder of Timbatec, joins the great "Who's Who" of the Swiss construction and real estate industry. Find out why the days of concrete and steel are numbered in his interview in the NZZ am Sonntag.
Timber construction is currently experiencing an enormous boom. Public and professional building are increasingly turning to wood. There are good reasons for this, as Stefan Zöllig explains in the interview in the NZZ am Sonntag. Buildings made of steel and concrete are responsible for gigantic CO₂ emissions with little performance. That's why Zöllig judges houses made of steel and concrete to be "worst practice." He is convinced that timber construction will prevail - more slowly than he would like, but slower than he would like, but much faster than many people think.
Here you can find the whole interview in the NZZ am Sonntag.
The big "Who
is Who" of the Swiss construction and real estate industry
Only a few
years ago, timber construction was a niche market and timber engineers such as Zöllig
were given a platform at trade events and in industry magazines to demonstrate the advantages of timber construction. That's different today. Wood construction is
mainstream, and Zöllig joins the great "Who's Who" of the Swiss
Swiss construction and real estate industry. Zöllig will be joined by Simon
Kronenberg, CEO of Holcim, Stefan Heitmann, CEO of MoneyPark, Peter Spirig, CEO of V-ZUG and Jann Felber, COO of Walde.
