As part of the sia event series «Holzbau berühren» (Touching Timber Construction), Marcel Muster and Lisa Rogatsch demonstrate how timber hybrid buildings are structurally well thought out and constructively implemented. The focus is on the structural concept and the targeted use of TS3 technology in the Zelgstrasse project in Uster. Added value for investors, planners, architects, and timber builders.
Wood-hybrid buildings place high demands on structural engineering and structural design. At the sia event «Touching wood construction ... Wood-hybrid buildings»,Marcel Muster and Lisa Rogatsch will share their experience in structural design for complex wood and hybrid buildings. Using the project«Zelgstrasse development, Uster,» they explain how hybrid systems can be constructed sensibly and where wood can best demonstrate its structural strengths.
A key focus is on the use ofTS3 technology. This enables large-area, point-supported flat ceilings made of wood for multi-story solid wood structures with force-fit wood-to-wood connections. «Designed in concrete – built with wood,» and this with clear advantages in terms of statics, construction time, and flexibility. Marcel Muster and Lisa Rogatsch demonstrate howTS3 works in terms of construction, the structural principles behind it, and the project requirements for which the system is particularly well suited.
The presentation is aimed specifically at investors, planners, architects, and timber construction companies who want to delve deeper into structural issues relating to hybrid timber buildings. Topics covered include load transfer, stiffness, cost-effectiveness, and interfaces between planning, production, and execution. The event provides a sound basis for decision-making in challenging construction projects involving multi-story timber and hybrid structures.
