The project
The two-storey building in the forest contains a parking garage with washing area, a workshop, tank room and general rooms on the first floor. The upper floor houses an office, checkrooms and a recreation room.
The construction method
The walls are planked with OSB in a frame construction and the storey ceilings are designed as stacked board ceilings. This meant that the company's own timber could be used immediately after it had been cut in the sawmill and dried. The facade was also constructed using the company's own timber.
The challenge
The exciting thing about this project was to enable the timber components to be installed directly after the sawmill, without a gluing plant. This meant that the dimensions of the timber components had to be within a certain range and the statics had to take this into account.
