The project
The basis In the course of a total renovation apartments were extended by an addition in wood. The resulting living space with a veranda represents an added value for the apartments on the first floor and 1st floor. Two inviting terraces were created on the new flat roof area, which belong to the apartments on the 2nd floor. With a prefabricated new outer shell, the building was upgraded to Minergie-P standard.
As a first step, all balconies protruding from the facade, window jambs canopies, local and gable side had to be cut back to wall level. New strip supports were created to connect the timber building elements to the existing façade.
The construction
The living room extension consists of hollow box elements, which rests on a post and beam construction at the front and is clad with a glass front. A new pergola is located in front of this living room extension. The prefabricated façade elements were manufactured to storey height and set on pre-assembled setting timbers. The building services The entire building services, the supply/exhaust air lines and the electrotechnical installations are pre-assembled in the elements. The floor of the attic (ceiling above 2nd floor) was insulated. The new canopies were created with three-layer panels screwed to the existing rafters.
