The competition for the replacement of the Suhr bridge was won by the Erne/Timbatec/Moser+Colombo team in the fall of 2005.
The project
The design of the Suhr bridge combines the proven technology of the trough bridge with improved weather protection and the following new technologies: The load-bearing parts are largely protected from the weather and can dry out. All surfaces are designed as wear parts.
The construction
The use of GSA technology eliminates the need for the steel U-bracket used in the past. It is replaced by horizontal HEA beams, which also support the roadway. The supports were created with elastomeric pads. The girder cladding is designed as open Douglas fir formwork.
